The little wooden puppet ‘Pinocchio’ was born in Tuscany!
In Collodi, a village a few kilometres from Pistoia, there is the Pinocchio Park named after the famous wooden puppet.
The park is open-air and inside you can meet the characters from Carlo Collodi’s famous tale: the cat and the fox, the fairy, the talking cricket, Geppetto, the shark, etc. Inside the Pinocchio Park there is also a small ivy maze, rides with horses, a rope castle, a small puppet theatre, a giant chessboard, a cable car, and other games.
Also noteworthy near the park is the Giardino Garzoni, a fascinating walk in paths surrounded by flower beds, large statues and fountains with typical water features, and the Casa delle Farfalle, an exotic garden populated by hundreds of lively tropical butterflies.
